Improv

Can you improvise a topic better than we can improvise this description? Are you spontaneous enough to be the wittiest one among them all? Do you have the itch to make a joke out of every possible scenario? If so, come showcase your skills because this event is just right for you!

Event Details:

Round 1: Poison Word

  1. Teams are randomly assigned 15 "poison words" before the game begins.
  2. Three additional bonus words are provided to both teams, not disclosed in advance.
  3. These bonus words are unknown to both teams and serve as tiebreakers in case of a draw.

Game Rules

  1. In each round, teams engage in a rapid-fire question-and-answer format.
  2. The primary goal is to avoid saying any of the assigned "poison words" during the round.
  3. If a team inadvertently says a poison word, they are immediately eliminated from the round.
  4. If a tie occurs, the team that correctly answers more bonus words wins.

Timing:

  1. Each team has 10 seconds to provide an answer and an additional 10 seconds to ask questions.

Warnings:

  1. Each team receives one out-of-time warning.
  2. On the second warning, the team is disqualified from the round.

Round 2: Duo Mock Press

  1. Each team comprises two members and each member is assigned a specific personality.
  2. Teams are given two personalities before the round begins, and members must embody these characters during the mock press/interview.
  3. Teams engage in a mock press/interview format where judges pose questions to the characters portrayed by the teams.
  4. Top 4 teams will advance to the final round.

Round 3: Emotional Atyachar

  1. The scene will be divided into 4 quadrants and allocate 4 different emotions to each quadrant.
  2. The scene will be given on spot.
  3. Players must improvise the scene, but need to take on the emotion of the quadrant they are in.
  4. The players must switch to the emotion mentioned in each quadrant while given a cue by the MC and make the best use of all the 4 emotions to complete the scene.
  5. The act will be judged based on the efficient use of all emotions and regular movements in the quadrant.
